Miami Added as Embarkation Port For Bahamas Cruises

On June 22, Caribbean Princess will sail from Miami, FL to Nassau, Bahamas. The Caribbean Princess is a modern, luxurious cruise ship with a total capacity of 1,298 guests. She is the sister ship to the Norwegian Epic which arrived in Miami, FL on June 18.

An estimated 1.5 million people are expected to visit the Bahamas in 2018 for the winter holiday season. During the peak of the season, cruise lines can expect to welcome as many as 15,000-20,000 passengers. These passenger numbers are expected to increase in 2019, and while the Bahamas is expected to see a similar level of growth, the Miami port of embarkation is expected to see a significant increase in passenger traffic.

Miami has received a new designation as the official embarkation port for cruises to the Bahamas. Carnival Cruises has announced that they will be starting voyages from Miami instead of New York, beginning with the new Carnival Glory ship in February. The new itineraries will start in Miami, before sailing on to the Bahamas with visits to Nassau, Royal Caribbean’s private island, Castaway Cay, and Freeport.

Crystal Excursions has introduced Miami as a third embarkation port for Crystal Serenity’s Bahamas cruises, making it simpler for Americans to board.

The seven-day roundtrip “Luxury Bahamas Escapes” will now depart from three different ports: Nassau on Saturdays, Bimini on Sundays, and Miami on Mondays.

On Friday, July 2, the Crystal Serenity arrived at Nassau.

The Serenity will set sail from Nassau on August 7 and arrive in PortMiami on August 9. New passengers will be allowed to board, while those who departed from Nassau and Bimini will be able to tour the city.

Furthermore, the company has introduced a new four-night vacation round-trip from Miami starting November 15 that includes stops to San Salvador and Exuma, as well as a day at sea.

Crystal President Jack Anderson stated, “By adding Port of Miami, we are offering passengers another easy option to join these popular Bahamas cruises that give holiday getaways both near to home and a world away.”

According to reports, Crystal chose Miami due of a shortage of airlift into the Bahamas and the desire of Americans to join ships without having to travel to another nation.

The addition of Florida necessitates a change in the Crystal Vaccination Rules.

Since a result of the addition of the Florida port, Crystal Cruises will have to change its policies, as state law forbids demanding evidence of vaccination. To date, all visitors above the age of 12 have been required to be completely vaccinated as part of Crystal’s restart procedures.

Crystal now “highly recommends” but does not mandate immunization for passengers leaving from Miami, following in the footsteps of sister company Royal Caribbean.

Unvaccinated passengers, on the other hand, will encounter a number of challenges while boarding the Serenity. They will be placed on a waiting list at first, and only a small number of people will be permitted to embark. They must also provide evidence of valid travel insurance and pass a variety of tests.

Those who have not been vaccinated or who refuse to reveal their vaccination status will be recognized by a red bracelet, while those who have been vaccinated will be identified by a green band. Wearers of red bracelets will be required to wear masks in all public places save while eating or drinking, and will be prohibited from visiting some specialized restaurants and nightclubs, as well as the spa and fitness facilities. They may also be unable go ashore at certain ports due to local rules.

The first day of bookings for the Bahamas was the busiest in Crystal’s history.

The Bahamas series of Crystal Serenity started on July 3 in Nassau. When reservations were opened in March, the line had its busiest single day of bookings ever. Within the first 24 hours, over 4,000 passengers had booked cabins or suites, accounting for roughly a quarter of the total capacity for the first series.

With stops in Great Exuma, San Salvador, and Long Island, the “Luxury Bahamas Escapes” visit the Bahamas’ Family Islands. The Serenity used to visit Spanish Wells before adding the Miami stop, however it has been removed from the current schedule.

Clear blue sea, pink and white sand beaches, and chances to join the Exuma swimming pigs or snorkel among multicolored reefs await Crystal visitors. The inclusion of Miami to the trip adds a fresh urban aspect to the program, with its lively nightlife, crowded beaches, and dramatic neighborhoods.
